Home test

Home tests for STIs and HIV can be bought from chemists or on the internet. These tests are not always reliable. They can also be complicated, causing you to make mistakes. Furthermore, home tests usually only test for one STI. So you could have another STI as well. You also do not have the support or guidance of a doctor. We therefore advise that you go to a doctor or a municipal health service (GGD) for an STI test or an HIV test.

A home test is not the same as a rapid test. A rapid test is done by a service provider. The result of a rapid test is usually known within an hour.
